Lourdes Pilgrimage

For Catholic faithful the world over, Lourdes represents a major pilgrimage site second after Rome. Between February 11 and July 16, 1858, the Virgin Marie is said to have appeared 11 times to 14 year old Bernadette Soubirous in the Masabielle Grotto. For more than a century, the sanctuaries welcome pilgrims in search of spiritual inspiration and comfort. When coming to Lourdes on a pilgrimage you will visit a complex of religious sites including the Basilica Notre Dame of the Rosary, the Massabielle grotto, the Basilica of Immaculate Conception; the Church of Ste. Bernadette; the Crypt; the Basiclica of St. Pius X and other sites associated to Bernadette's life. Masses and processions take place daily.
